San Juan Hospital is seeking a registered nurse to work in the surgery department part-time. Perioperative RNs care for patients who are taking part in surgical procedures. Their responsibilities include planning, organizing, and carrying out all nursing care throughout the perioperative encounter.
The perioperative nurse will assist in all areas of caring for surgical patients from the time a case is scheduled to follow-up after a procedure. This can include patient calls, chart reviews, documentation, prepping a patient for surgery, circulating, recovery, and discharging patients. The RN should have an ability to be flexible in work schedule, job duties, and to cover call, which requires being able to respond within 30 minutes to the hospital. The nurse should be able to perform all aspects of patient care in an environment that supports and maintains a culture of safety and quality. Experience in a perioperative setting is preferred but not required. The schedule flexes between 20 and 30 hours per week.
Minimum Requirements
Must be licensed in the state of Utah, be BLS/CPR certified, and be able to obtain ACLS, NRP, and PALS certifications as soon as possible. The applicant will be someone that is reliable, hardworking, professional, and able to follow and maintain confidences as required by healthcare and HIPAA law.
