Smart Phone Requirement*
San Juan Health uses multi-factor authentication (MFA) to securely access resources whenever possible (e.g. Microsoft 365 resources, etc.). MFA is also referred to as 2-step verification or two-factor authentication. In order to use MFA at San Juan Health, you must have and be willing to use a personal smart phone to access resources as part of the MFA process. This means that you will be required to download certain free apps (one of them will be the Microsoft Authenticator app) in order to securely access certain resources as part of the MFA process in order to get a code or token that validates your identity beyond your password. As we expand MFA security, additional app installs may be required.
